SPIEL’16 Preview: Furious competitions in ancient Rome with Matt Leacock’s
Chariot Race
Friedberg, September 16th 2016:
Chariot Race, a versatile and rapid dice race in the manner of
Ben Hur, will be released at the SPIEL’16 in Essen by Pegasus Spiele. Up
to six Roman charioteers can try their luck in the arena and hope that
the Goddess Fortuna will smile on them. Of
course, a true Roman knows how to make his own luck. The worldwide
first release of this action-loaded racing adventure comes with
instructions in German, Dutch, English, Italian and Polish.
Masses of spectators,
scorching afternoon heat, sweaty equine bodies, everyone is waiting
excitedly for the starting signal – and off they go! The participants of
the race have to complete the course of the
arena twice and they do not have fair play on their mind: If the dice
allow it, they can use spears and caltrops to interfere with their
competitors, or even bump into them – guaranteeing cheeky fun for
families in a racing fever. A double-sided arena board
and alternative chariots with individual advantages provide ample
variety for long-term entertainment.
